Why are your photos higher priced than other royalty free stock photography websites?
Answer: We only have one license arrangement and that license arrangement is comparable to other sites extended license. So that combined with the ability to request specific photos we feel we've reached a good balance with our pricing.

Are your images Royalty Free?
Answer: Yes. Please see our License Agreement for more details for what you can and can't do with our images.

How do I purchase images on Jauntstock?
Answer: You purchase images by adding the image to your cart and proceeding through the checkout process. We process credit cards and paypal orders only. No checks or phone orders please.

Can I get a refund?
Answer: Yes, if there was a problem downloading or you are not satisfied you can email us at refunds@jauntstock.com. We will ask you to jump through a couple hoops and then refund your purchase to your credit card or Paypal© account. Request for refunds must be made within 48 hours of purchase.

When will my Map Search request be photographed?
Answer: The trend so far has been about 2-3 weeks but that is up to a contributing photographers availability. We make no promises for when the photos will be taken. So if you are under a tight deadline, we highly suggest you contact a photographer directly to take care of your image needs. Or send us your information and we will try to find a regional photographer to refer you to so you can work directly with them. At which point that working relationship is totally between you and the photographer. Jaunstock,Inc. makes no promises and assumes no liability when you are working directly with a photographer.

How do I make an Image Request?
Answer: Go to the map search page. Then find the location on the map you need images of and zoom all the way in. It is very important that you zoom in all the way especially if you are only dropping a pin with no address attached. We find that Google maps will sometimes position the pin a little bit north of where you position the pin so be as precise as possible and the best option is to supply an address if you have one. Then be sure to provide a detailed description of what type of images you are looking for and click submit. Your request will be instantly added to the requests and viewable by anyone visiting the site.

No funny business, if you include profanity or request obscene images they will be deleted by the moderator.

Is there a waiting period to remove images from my Gallery?
Answer: No. You have control over your images if you would like to remove an image select "Delete" under the image in your set. You can also "Hide" an image if you wish to leave the image on our server but don't want it to be viewable to others on the website. If you Delete an image it is is gone from our server and you will have to upload it once more, if you regret your decision. In which case the image will again go through the evaluation process by us.

What type of images should I upload?
Answer: All kinds! While our Map Search and Requests sets us apart from the other stock photo sites out there. That doesn't mean we aren't also focused on having a very diverse range of images for any stock photo need. So don't be shy, submit what ever you have as your images are searchable with search tags just like a traditional stock site as well.

General Questions

How many people work at Jauntstock?
Answer: Two. We hope to add a few people someday, but for now, we are just a husband and wife team who love to travel and take photos. See our blog for more insight into our lives and ambitions.

What does Jaunt mean?
Answer: According to Merriam Webster©: to make a usually short journey for pleasure.
Yep. That fits.

Why did you start Jauntstock and not just contribute to one of the other stock photo sites?
Answer: We like doing things our own way I guess. And we liked the idea of asking customers what types of photos we should take instead of being told by a stock agency. Also we know two really, really, really nice programmers who could make it all possible on a workable budget.

Do you guys shoot weddings?
Answer: Sorry, no.

Why is your homepage a blog?
Answer: We wanted to put our blog right up front so people can get a more personal view of our travels and interests. Also as we grow we want our contributing photographers, who have an interest, to contribute content to the blog as well.

I have a question that wasn't answered, how should I proceed?
Answer: Please use our contact form for your initial correspondence with us. We are on the go much of the time and find it hard to always have good enough cell service to conduct a decent conversation. We promise to get back to you through email within 24-48 hours. And if we need to call we will set up a time that works best for you to do that. Our physical address is also located on our contact page and we love to read letters or do lunch if you're in the area.

What do the different colored arrows mean on the Map Search page?
Answer: Red: These are requested locations for images. Blue: This requested location has been added to a photographers itinerary and they have scheduled a date to shoot the images for that request. Green: There are images uploaded and ready to buy for that location.
